Developed by Stephen B. Freeman, M.D., F.A.C.S., the Freeman Frontal Sinus Stent is designed to reduce the need for frontal sinus obliteration or technically difficult frontal sinus drillout procedures. It is inserted endoscopically with the patented atraumatic Blom-SingerĀ® gel cap insertion system or through an external incision and frontal sinus fenestration.

To ensure patency of the frontal sinus outflow tract, use of the Freeman Frontal Sinus Stent is recommended by Dr. Freeman in the following conditions:
• Stenosis of the frontal outflow tract as a result of previous surgery or trauma opened either endoscopically or through an external Lynch incision.
• Chronic frontal sinusitis drained endoscopically.
• Frontal sinus mucocele decompressed endoscopically or through a Lynch incision.
• Polyps or hypertrophic mucosal disease in frontal recess removed endoscopically.
